Easy Party Food for Entertaining

Food is a key component for any party or get-together, and I’m known to spend days {weeks} pouring over recipes to find the perfect menu. There’s an old rule that you shouldn’t try a new recipe on your guests. I break that rule EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

I’ve only had a couple of fails. Like the time I spent ALL DAY making a layer cake from scratch that had SEVERAL laborious steps involved. The result was a cake that was marginal at best! Luckily it was a potluck party so other desserts were available.

Although I love to try out and create new recipes, sometimes I like to keep it simple and serve real, basic food that requires minimal effort.

simple foods for entertaining

Fresh Veggies – a fresh crudites plate or stuffed veggie assortment is a great way to bring brightness {in color and flavor} into the mix. {see recipe here}

2

Flat bread pizza – when you cut pizzas into smaller portions they make great appetizer bites. Top healthy flat bread with wholesome ingredients and it becomes a delicious AND smart food choice. {see recipe here}

3

Crispy Garbonzo beans – these little nuggets are about as addictive as chips…and far healthier.{see recipe here}

4

Hummus – make your own hummus with real ingredients like chick peas, extra virgin olive oil, and garlic, and you have a classic dip that everyone loves. Get the hummus recipe here.

5

Shrimp cocktail – this is one of our top choices for parties, either casual or more formal. So easy, simple, and minimal prep!

6

Cheese – it doesn’t get much better than a cheese plate. There’s a flavor for everyone.

bread & olive oil dippers

Olive Oil & bread – this simple food is as easy as 1-2-3. Slice bread, pour olive oil & seasoning, and dip!

What do all these foods have in common?  They’re all very simple and presented in their basic form. There’s not a lot of ingredients or extra sauces to transform anything.
