7 Ideas For Easy Party Food

easy party food ideas

Food is a key component for any party or get-together, and I’m known to spend days {weeks} pouring over recipes to find the perfect menu. I break the rule EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. that you shouldn’t try a new recipe on your guests. I’ve only had a couple of fails – like the time I spent ALL DAY making a layer cake from scratch that had SEVERAL steps involved….and the result was a cake that was marginal at best {luckily it was a pot luck so other desserts were available}.

Although I love to try out and create new recipes, sometimes I like to keep it simple and serve real basic food that requires minimal effort. I’ve brought together some of my favorite picks for easy party food which can be served on their own as a snack, or as part of a larger buffet.

simple foods for entertaining

Fresh Veggies – a fresh crudites plate or stuffed veggie assortment is a great way to bring brightness {in color and flavor} into the mix. {see recipe here}

2

Flat bread pizza – when you cut pizzas into smaller portions they make great appetizer bites. Top healthy flat bread with wholesome ingredients and it becomes a delicious AND smart food choice. {see recipe here}

3

Crispy Garbonzo beans – these little nuggets are about as addictive as chips…and far healthier.{see recipe here}

4

Hummus – make your own hummus with real ingredients like chick peas, extra virgin olive oil, and garlic, and you have a classic dip that everyone loves. {see recipe here}

5

Shrimp cocktail – this is one of our top choices for parties, either casual or more formal. So easy, simple, and minimal prep!

6

Cheese – it doesn’t get much better than a cheese plate. There’s a flavor for everyone.

bread & olive oil dippers

Olive Oil & bread – this simple food is as easy as 1-2-3. Slice bread, pour olive oil & seasoning, and dip!

What do all these foods have in common?  They’re all very simple and presented in their basic form – not a lot of ingredients or extra sauces to transform anything.    Please PIN here for later if you like these ideas.

For casual snacking or for a more flavorful cracker option, we’ve discovered the new brown rice Triscuits.  A few months ago they caught my eye at the grocery store so I bought a couple of flavors to try.  We loved them so much my husband went out the next week and bought EVERY. SINGLE. FLAVOR!  We love the crunch that they have {much crispier than the original style} and the flavors are fantastic.

A new take on an old favorite. Enjoy the new line of Triscuit baked with whole grain brown rice and wheat, some with real food ingredients like sweet potato or red beans.
