When it comes to serving cold refreshing cocktails in the summer, you can’t beat this white wine sangria. It’s peachy, it’s sweet but not too sweet, there’s a little tartness, and it’s so easy to prepare.

Sangria is one of the most crowd-pleasing pitcher drinks you can serve. And the fact that you make it ahead means it’s stress-free for the host.

Why You’ll Love It

  • Simply put, sangria is the perfect combination of wine, liqueur, and fruit!
  • It feeds a small gathering or a crowd. Effortlessly double the recipe to make extra.
  • You make it ahead for easy entertaining.
  • This delicious recipe can take you from summer parties to bridal showers, and tailgating parties to Cinco de Mayo. It’s ideal for a peach themed garden party too!
  • As a special bonus I’ve included a free printable table sign you can use when serving your guests.

Ingredients & Substitutions

  • White wine. Use semi-dry or semi-sweet white wine for a lighter, refreshing taste. I like using Pinot Grigio, but Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, or Chenin Blanc can also work well. For a sweeter base, use Riesling or Moscato. Other terrific choices are Rosé or Prosecco.
  • Peach nectar. Nectar is thicker and has sweetener added for more intense flavor than juice. You can often find large cartons (Goya has 33-oz cartons) or Jumex has 11-oz cans in the Mexican food section of the grocery store. If not, check out the juice aisle for glass bottles of it. Substitute with mango nectar or apricot nectar if you can’t find the peach.
  • Peach schnapps. I typically use DeKuyper, but any brand will do. Peach schnapps is an important ingredient to add that peach flavor. If needed, you can substitute with peach brandy.
  • Frozen pink lemonade concentrate. You’ll need one 12-oz can unless you want to double the recipe in which case you’ll need two. It’s best to thaw it in the fridge a few hours or overnight so it mixes more easily. As a substitute you can use regular lemonade flavored concentrate but your drink will be a little more tart.
  • Fruit. To best highlight the flavors in the sangria I like to use sliced peaches, green grapes, and lemon wheels. For convenience, frozen peach slices work excellent here! Other alternatives are sliced apples, strawberries, and fresh or frozen raspberries which will add a pink tint to the drink as they soak.

How to Make It

  1. Simply add everything together and let it refrigerate for at least 2 hours so the flavors can blend and the fruit can absorb some liquid.
  2. Pour over ice to serve, adding a bit of the fruit to each glass.

Large Batch For A Crowd

Use the easy recipe as is to serve a small party. But when you need to serve a larger crowd, just follow this scaled up formula with an added kick.

  • Use 2 large bottles of Pinot Grigio (equivalent to 4 regular size bottles).
  • Increase to 3 cups peach schnapps.
  • Increase to 36 ounces (or 3 cans) peach nectar.
  • Use 2 cups of the lemonade concentrate. You’ll need 2 frozen cans.
  • Add in 2 cups of vodka to make it more boozy.

Freeze Leftovers

Freeze leftover sangria for another time! Strain out the fruit first, then freeze in an airtight container or freezer bag. When ready, you can let it thaw in the fridge until it’s liquid again or serve it as a slushy with extra prosecco or sparkling mineral water poured over.

Helpful Tips

  • Use a 1-gallon pitcher to mix everything together. Then you can distribute it into serving pitchers.
  • Add some effervescence with sparkling mineral water like LaCroix, Pellegrino or Perrier. Simply top off each glass with a couple of ounces of chilled sparkling water before sipping.
  • Make two patches. Keep one cold in the fridge while serving the other. Stock an ice bucket with ice and tongs to keep drinks chilled without diluting the pitcher.
  • Add frozen peach slices to each glass to act as “ice” without the melting.
