Create a Red, White & Blue party to celebrate Independence day
How do you celebrate Independence Day in style? It’s easy to bring in a little patriotic power with a red white & blue party tablescape. This one was created using everyday items – not a single “themed” item was purchased except for some inexpensive sparklers to add that fun factor!
All you have to do is use color and pattern in a focused way, and resist the urge to buy kitschy holiday-specific pieces that will sit in storage for another year {or be thrown away after the party}. This is a great budget-savvy hosting tip that can be applied to any holiday.
I had so much fun setting this 4th of July table setting. I think it’s a great “grownup” way to celebrate the holiday with friends and family. I’ve also included a festive July 4th Welcome bar complete with a copy of the Constitution. This will instantly get your guests in the mood to celebrate!

Red White & Blue Party Table setting tips
- Red melamine dinner plates
- blue & white melamine dessert or salad plates
- white mini colanders {World Market}
- Red strawberries
- a box of sparklers for each guest {search local listings for where to buy these}
- Blue & white napkins {tea towels from IKEA} and table runner {HomeGoods}
- Clear plastic water glasses
- Blue vintage wine or tea glasses
- White vase with blue hydrangeas + red berry stems

Welcome guest with a 4th of July Bar
- Use whatever themed items you may have on hand, for decor {wood sign, mini flags, printed copy of the Constitution (from Cracker Barrel)}
- Red, white & blue potato chips in individual cones or snack cups
- A blue cocktail is our signature drink, with red maraschino cherry garnish {sliced star fruit would also be great if you can find it}
July 4th Party Food
- My favorite juicy burgers
- My favorite potato salad {make it with red, white & blue potatoes for a festive touch}
- Red, white & blue trifle
- Individual ice cream cups. Keep them on ice in a bucket inside the freezer until ready to serve.
- Set up an ice cream sandwich & float bar

When party planners recommend everyday items for party planning , not only it is good for environment but it also results in very pretty decor. Very nice job.
