Baked Mini Party Sandwiches with Brown Sugar Glaze
Easy mini party sandwiches with ham and cheddar, and a brown sugar glaze are the perfect party food for a crowd. You can make them ahead for easy entertaining, and double the recipe for a larger gathering. They’re perfect for holiday parties, luncheons, graduation celebrations and showers.
When I host parties I make sure to serve some hearty food options in order to help absorb the cocktails, and to balance out the lighter menu items. Mini sandwiches are great for that and everyone loves them!
These sandwiches are an excellent appetizer for girls night in, or to add to any appetizer party. Pair with a few cold appetizers and you have the makings of a delicious party buffet.
Helpful Tips

I don’t really suggest you make substitutions to this recipe, however you could use white cheddar or deli turkey as a replacement for the yellow cheddar and ham, if needed.
How to Make Them
If you want to get a head start, prepare the rolls the night before but don’t bake them. Cover them with foil and refrigerate over night. Before the party, prepare the glaze and bake as directed.
Quick Tip
The party rolls usually come in a sheet of 12. For easy assembly keep them connected at the sides until fully cooked. Just cut the entire top off the “sheet” of rolls to add the sandwich layers.

- Prepare a baking dish by adding a bed of parchment paper or aluminum foil to the bottom and up the sides of the pan. This will make clean up a breeze.
- Slice rolls in half for sandwiches, and place the bottom halves in the baking dish. Layer on the cheese and ham, and cover with the roll tops.

- Prepare the glaze on the stove and then ladle it over the tops of the sandwiches, covering fully.
- Bake uncovered. Check on sandwiches and add a loose layer of foil over the rolls if they begin to brown too much.

Storage
You can store your leftover sandwiches wrapped in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. You can revive them by reheating in the oven to crisp up the bread again.
What Else To Serve
For one of our Christmas party menus I served this recipe along with my easy baked spinach dip, and also goat cheese crostini. The rest of the menu consisted of cocktail meatballs, cold marinated shrimp appetizer, and a crudites platter.
More Party Sandwiches
A classic alternative to this warm slider is ham & Swiss cheese mini sandwiches which are always a crowd pleaser. Or use your crock pot for these easy slow cooker BBQ beef sandwiches.
For a unique twist for a party, set up a DIY sandwich bar as an interactive food station. Or serve prepared cold sandwiches like roast beef and blue cheese or mini club sandwiches.
I hope you’ll add these mini party sandwiches with brown sugar glaze to your next gathering. I knew the moment I tasted them they were just a little different from the traditional ones…. and even tastier!

These sound delicious, the brown sugar glaze is unique, and something I have not seen before. I love party food that can be eaten with the fingers or a party pick. I am glad I don’t have these at my house right now, because I think I would gobble up more than a few! I am with you on the post-holiday purge, but I started on the 26th, it was time! Too much partying! Ready for the new year! Happy New Year! I look forward to meeting and hearing you at the BASH Conference!
