Pomegranate Cocktail Hula Breeze
Add this refreshing Pomegranate cocktail to your list of party recipes. This claret colored drink is not too sweet yet it has a nice tropical vibe. The sweetness of the pineapple is balanced by the tartness of the pom juice. A couple of more bar ingredients makes this drink a tasty sensation. Serve it for happy hours, girls night in, or add it to our summer entertaining ideas. Cheers!
Add pomegranate cocktails with gin when Entertaining at Home
The other night I was playing around with some ingredients I had on hand and came up with this tasty cocktail recipe. It all started with some Pomegranate juice, and some left over gin I had from a past party. This drink turned out terrific, and I tried it with vodka as well but definitely preferred the one made with gin!
I’m calling this a pomegranate hula breeze because it’s light and “breezy” with a little taste of the island. It’s not too sweet – I can’t drink overly sweet drinks, and it’s layered with flavors including one of my faves, ginger liqueur {remember this pear ginger sparkling cocktail}! I think the color and taste lends itself well to both Summer or Fall too.
Shake up this Hula Breeze cocktail for one of these occasions
- A fun summer Tropical themed party
- A 4th of July celebration party
- A red & green Christmas party
Benefits of using Pomegranate Juice
Hey, if you’re going to drink your cocktails you may as well add some health benefits to it. Pomegranate juice is a terrific mixer because it has a high level of antioxidants. Those are the things that fight free radicals and reduce inflammation.
It’s a heart healthy juice and has vitamins C, E, and K as well as potassium. It can even improve memory! To reap the benefits without the pitfalls, use 100% juice with no added sugar. *resource
Can I use Vodka in this recipe?
Yes! I know there are plenty of true blue vodka fans out there. You can most certainly substitute vodka for the gin in this recipe. My favorite vodka is Tito’s because it’s affordable and tastes great! Everyone loves Tito’s
If you’re open to trying this with gin, I recommend The Botanist gin. It’s a small batch gin. It’s dryer and super smooth! And it doesn’t taste as floral as some of the others do. Hendrick’s is also a favorite.
