As I was re-stocking the bar after the holidays I was looking for some new flavors to try and came across this bottle of French ginger liqueur. Obviously I was first smitten with the cool look of the bottle and the more I thought about the flavor, ginger, the more I thought that it would make some very tasty cocktails. So I added it to my shopping basket and was on my way.
I have several ideas for cocktails, swirling around my head, and today I’m sharing one of my favorite ways to use this ingredient – a pear-ginger sparkling cocktail. I use Prosecco for this because it’s a dry sparkling wine and pairs well with other sweeter ingredients. When I was thinking about which fruit flavor to add I thought pears and ginger make a great combination in desserts so why not in cocktails, and so it was to be!
The ginger liqueur flavor goes a long way so add it with a light hand. Enjoy this sparkling drink for brunch or girls-night-in, and if you just want one or two glasses use the mini bottles of Prosecco like I’ve done here.
Bonus about getting this bottle of liqueur….it looks really pretty sitting on my bar cart every day!
