Pink Party for Breast Cancer

A while back I was contracted by Estroven to create ideas for those who want to host a pink party for breast cancer awareness. The project is called SleepPink and the idea is to have a Girls Night In Pink Party to promote awareness and raise money for research.

Working with clients and projects like this is one of the things I love about my job, and I’m excited to share the design details with you. If you’ve been affected by breast cancer {directly or indirectly} I hope this speaks to you, and maybe you’ll even host your own Pink Party.

This is a very “DIY” party plan. Even if you’ve never put together a luncheon or dinner party before, I think if you follow my guide you’ll be all set to host. Nothing here is too difficult or hard to find, and recipe links have been included at the bottom.

Breast Cancer Awareness Party Ideas

The pink ribbon is the symbol of breast cancer, and it’s a key design element here.

  • Incorporate it into the bunting. Even though the strips of ribbon hang straight, they are symbolic of the theme.
  • Roll pink napkins on the diagonal and then lay them on place settings to look like pink ribbons.
  • “Pink” food is served for dinner. The menu is pink salmon topped with mango salsa, and rosy pink watermelon-basil salad. Bread “ribbons” are served on the side.
  • Pink snacks include pink chocolate-drizzled popcorn mix, and pink drinks.
  • Serve cupcakes topped with pink ribbons attached to toothpicks.
  • Since this is a “sleep pink” party, I thought donuts and milk, and strawberry hot chocolate were essential to the sweets table.
  • Tie pink ribbons around serving pieces, handles, or utensils to add to the dessert display.

Pink Party Favors

Since the theme of the party is “sleep pink” I thought these would be great favors to complement that. Of course these are great ideas for any party favor for ladies night in.

  • Include a pink sleep mask. This one is made of silky fabric so it’s gentle on the eye area.
  • Add some pretty pink note cards. These have a monogram for more individualized gifts.
  • A pocket planner will remind everyone to do their monthly self examination.
  • And finally, add some pink candies placed in a pink box. Tie the box with pink ribbon of course.
