What To Wear to a Football Party
Want to look fashionable but still comfortable when you’re tailgating or cheering your favorite team? Here’s what to wear to a football party for game day or Super Bowl.

Game Day Chic
Call me crazy, but I’m not really a sports jersey or sweatshirt kind of girl. My idea of sporty casual is jeans of course, but paired with something that is both comfortable AND stylish.
When I was a little girl my parents (my dad in particular) would never leave the house unless they were properly dressed and coiffed. I don’t know if I’m a product of my environment or just love fashion, but I would rather die than go to a football game or tailgating in jeans, tennis shoes, and a sweatshirt.
These outfits are my idea of game day party attire whether you’re at the field or watching with friends on tv.

Pants
When it comes to pants and jeans, almost anything goes these days. From high waisted mom jeans to mid-rise skinny jeans, you can pair them with trendy tops and sweaters.
Skinny jeans are usually made with a little stretch so it’s like you’re wearing workout pants. Plus, they tuck into knee high boots with ease.
Yoga pants and leggings topped with loose sweaters is a classic combination.
Sweaters
- This long sleeve top is sort of a cross between a seater and a tee. It has so many color block choices you could even pick one in your team colors to show your team spirit.
- Here’s another color block sweater that’s nice and loose. Great to pair with jeans.
- This turtleneck sweater is roomy and comfy and super stylish.
- Add some school girl style with this classic argyle sweater vest. Wear it over a white button down shirt that’s untucked, for a modern approach. Lots of colors to choose from!
Cardigans
Knit cardigans, tunics, and ponchos all look great with jeans and they’ll keep you warm if you’re outside tailgating.
- I love this knit jacket style. It comes in an array of colors and is a good alternative between a cardigan and a coat.
- Nothing’s more comfortable than a chunky knit cardigan. It’s like wrapping yourself up in a blanket!
Knit Tops
You can dress really casually without wearing a team jerseys or hoodies. These knit tops have a sporty look but are a bit more fashionable.
- This long sleeve crewneck top is very cute and stylish with a few different looks to choose from.
- This sporty top looks great for game day and the fit gives it a modern look.
- This long sleeve tee is my answer to a jersey. It’s cute and classic.
Accessories
Accessories are everything when you’re dressing casual. Mixed metal jewelry and an eye catching cross body bag are great additions to an outfit.
If you’re out all day tailgating, throw on a fedora and some sunglasses and you’re good to go.
