Tablescape Decorating Details

Tools and crafts became a central concept in the design of the brunch table. The color palette was developed around painter’s tape blue, and the table is set low so that guests sit on pillows on the floor.
TIP: Place a large piece of plywood on top of crates to make a low table for the day.

Cut a canvas drop cloth into a decorative table runner and decorated with paint polka dots. To create a rug-like effect, put a full size drop cloth under the table and pillows and decorate it with paint splatters.
The opening at the end of paint rollers becomes a candle holder. Use painters tape to wrap them and hold two or three together for stability.

Make a separate name “card” using the lid of a paint can, and place one on each pillow or chair.
TIP: Paint the lid with acrylic craft paint and let it dry. Write guests name with a contrasting marker (white, silver or gold looks great against the colors).
An ideal party favor for your guests is a crafting apron, plus they can be worn while painting their masterpieces.

Paint cans and a collection of painters brushes can be re-purposed as flower vessels and sign holders, respectively.

Wooden painters palettes served as plates or chargers, and paper paint swatches were “sewn” together to house wooden cutlery. You can use yarn and a tiny hole punch to help with the card stitching.

Mini canvases along with painters tape were re-imagined as seating cards displaying a playful name for the day (Paint Princess, Glue Goddess, etc.).

Food
Serve a light meal, an appetizers party menu, or brunch before the crafting commences. Small quiches, cinnamon muffins, donuts, and bacon appetizers are a great make-ahead or purchased selection.
Paint trays act as serving trays, and paint chips are cut into circles using a craft punch, and used as food markers.
Cocktails are readily available. Take your pick of Watermelon Bellini or Tangerine Mimosa.
Create a paint palette cake for an easy dessert that’s right on theme.

Craft Table
Not only do the girls bond over a lovely meal, they whip up super fun and imaginative crafts or artwork in the process. The tool table is reminiscent of a dessert display where every crafting tool imaginable is prettily displayed in glass vessels and on cake stands.
A paint brush party banner is easy to create and looks whimsical at the front of the table. An artists easel is the perfect sign holder.
Guests have some photo fun between crafts as they create silly lips and mustaches on face masks.
What did I tell you? Is this party amazing or what!

Painting Party Ideas
Here are some more decorating ideas for hosting a paint and sip party at home.

Make a DIY hanging banner with small paint brushes strung onto twine. Paint each handle base with a different color that coordinates with the party decor.

Create food cards or mini signs using miniature easels, frames, and paint chips from the hardware store. Glue a mini paint brush onto the frame as an accent.

For a real celebration, serve a layer cake and drip the icing down the sides to look like dripping paint. Simply tint some frosting with food coloring and heat it in the microwave to get soft enough to drip down the sides.
