Cake Decorating Birthday Party
Celebrate the next birthday with a cake decorating birthday party. Guests can learn a new skill and enjoy their sweet reward!

I’m so happy to share this party design from Jenny Raulli of Bloom Designs. It’s a fabulous cake decorating birthday party for her teenage daughter. We don’t see too many teenage-focused parties around here, so when we do it’s pretty exciting!
I love this theme and set up because it works for adults as well as kids. Think 30th or 40th birthday celebrations, or ladies night in.
The decor is filled with pretty touches in a pink and peach color scheme. You could absolutely pull many of the details seen here, to create a bridal shower or bridesmaids party too. Check out all the details and read how Jenny made it all happen, below.

Party Decorations
The decorations start with tons of balloons scattered on the dining room floor and hanging above the dining table. You may want to get halp with this task or purchase a balloon kit.

The centerpiece is a runner of balloons & poms, and I made a faux chandelier out of pom poms, balloons and honeycomb balls.

Each guest gets a mini cake at her place setting, and the birthday girl’s chair is wrapped with coordinating ribbon.

Dessert Table
The dessert table feature a few cakes (of course!) from a local bakery. Since the girls were having so much cake, I kept the other desserts to a minimum.
Simple sugar cookies and macarons are favorites of the birthday girl. And in keeping with the theme, cake pops and cake donuts.

The guest of honor turned 13 and wanted to have a baking party for her birthday. A local cake artist was willing to come to the home and teach the girls the basics in cake decorating and fondant.
Each guest got to create her own masterpiece and take it home in small cake boxes. This was the highlight of the day and is a fun and creative activity to do at lots of other occasions too.
