Spring Tablescape with Blue and Green
This Spring tablescape can take you from Easter all the way through summer. The blue and green color scheme with blue and white hydrangeas centerpiece is elegant yet easy to create for dinner, brunch, or garden parties.

I love designing tables for the seasons, especially when they’re versatile enough to carry you through multiple occasions. The key is to use a color scheme and table decor that’s not overly themed, but is multi-functional.
For this tablescape I use a combination of blues, greens, and white – the colors of nature! A showstopping centerpiece that’s actually easier than it looks, to create. And a few details that add interest. These ideas work as Easter table decor and centerpiece as well as seasonal dinner parties, and even baby or bridal showers.

Color Scheme
As with all table settings, it’s all about layering and following a simple formula. First, choose your color scheme. In this case blue mimics the sky while green reflects the grass and trees.
Thinking about nature is a great way to look at color combinations. Another option is pink and green table decor which reflects the green of grass and the pink of spring flowers.
Start by covering your dining table with a solid fabric or subtle patterned tablecloth. That way it acts as a base and doesn’t interfere with the other decorations.

Place Settings
After the table covering, add on some woven chargers at each guest setting. The ratan material is light and indicative of the season.
Layer the dishes in alternating color patterns. Use blue and white transferware dinner plates as the bottom layer, and top them with green and white patterned salad plates (or vice versa).
The bamboo-style utensils are such a pretty detail and definitely give spring-summer vibes.

To help complete the look, add green checked napkins pulled through a wood napkin ring. Both items work for multiple occasions and holidays year round.
Colorful glasses are one of my signature style elements. I prefer to incorporate vintage sets, and for this table I found the blue set on Etsy. The green glasses are from a home store and have that vintage look that coordinates perfectly with the blue.

Table Favors
Party favors don’t have to cost a small fortune. In fact you can buy candy in bulk and add it to a cute container. Here I used color coordinating Sixlets candies and placed them inside a candy tube. Single shades of M&M’s work well too.
You can tie a name tag around the tube so it doubles as a place card. The idea is so simple yet it adds an adorable decoration to the place settings, and provides a sweet treat for later.

Centerpiece
Hydrangeas make a lovely floral centerpiece because they bloom from spring through summer, and come in hues of white, pale blue, darker blue, violet, and all the variations between.
Grab a long planter box, fill it with water-soaked floral foam, and cut the flower stems to fit the height you want. Add the large blooms first, working in a zigzag pattern from end to end. Then fill in with babies breath, white spider mums and carnations, and blue thistle.
This centerpiece is economical too. Since the hydrangea heads are so large and take up more space, you need less of them. When creating your centerpiece, keep in mind the height. You want it to be low enough to see across the table at the other guests.
Decor For Easter
It’s simple to include this table into your Easter party ideas just by adding a couple of themed touches. Here are a few ways to do it.

Some good ideas are tabletop figurines (bunnies, baby chicks), or a container filled with Easter eggs. You can use egg cartons, bowls, or jars.
You can use bunny themed napkin rings, or an Easter patterned salad plate layered on the place settings.

Use faux Easter eggs as place cards. You can write on them directly using a marker, or wrap a rubber band around it to hold the name card. Place it on the plate or in an egg cup.
