Easy Peanut Butter Marshmallow Cracker Snack
This peanut butter marshmallow cracker snack is a blast from my past. When I was a kid we made these for sleepovers. Get this easy & tasty snack here.
A couple of weeks ago I remembered one of the treats I used to eat when I went for sleepovers at my best friend’s house growing up. I think it was around 7th or 8th grade when she introduced me to these peanut butter marshmallow cracker treats, and I thought they were so unique, so ridiculously simple, and SO YUMMY!
I guess you could call this a sweet and salty spin on the classic s’mores.
I don’t know what took me so long to make them for my own kids, but ever since I did, they’ve been begging me for them almost every day. There’s only 3 little ingredients that you’re likely to have in your pantry right now. They’re great for after school snacks!

Cut the marshmallows in half for the perfect size, and the perfect amount of sweetness.
Cutting the marshmallows in half crosswise, not lengthwise, gives the right balance of sweet and salty. Otherwise they will overpower the treats both in size, and in taste.
The ooey gooey marshmallow and peanut butter adds just the right amount of sweetness to the salty crackers. They’re so quick & easy to make they may become a staple after school snack.
Try adding a small piece of chocolate to these warm treats once in a while, for a different spin.
Has anyone else ever made these?? I’ve never seen anyone else do it so I’m very curious.
Peanut Butter Marshmallow Cracker Snack
- Ritz crackers – 2 per treat (I like to use the whole wheat variety)
- Classic size marshmallows, cut in half
- Peanut Butter
Preheat the oven broiler. Spread peanut butter on one cracker, top with marshmallow, and place on a baking sheet.
Broil about 5-6 inches from the heat, for about 3 minutes or until the top begins to brown. Keep and eye on it because once it begins to brown it goes very quickly.
Remove from oven and press top cracker down slightly to adhere it to the hot marshmallow.
Let cool slightly {if you can} so it doesn’t burn your mouth, and enjoy.
TIP: If you need to, you can put just a tiny dab of peanut butter on the top cracker to help it stay in place on top of the marshmallow. Sometimes they don’t stick to the cracker.
This is easy and perfect for a children’s tea party. I might add a drizzle of chocolate syrup!!
Crazy question, but I can’t tell by the picture are these the miniature marshmallows or the other size. We just made them with the bigger marshmallows and they are soooo good! I’m sure this will be one of favorite quick snacks around here. Just wasn’t sure about the bigger marshmallows since they are pretty gooey coming out of the crackers.
Angie, these are the classic large size, but I did cut them in half in order to take photos because like you said, a whole one ooozes out and I couldn’t get a decent photo 😉 Tastes better with the whole one though.
Um. Yes yes and more yes. i want to eat these.
I was introduced to these almost 40 years ago!!! My now mil was then my Sunday School teacher and she would bring these as a snack, still warm from the oven. The only difference is she used saltine crackers. I loved them and still do!
Oh, that’s cool, Karen! What a great teacher/MIL.
