If you’ve spent more than a minute browsing parties lately, it should come as no surprise that black and white stripes are the new black! I’m completely smitten by this trend as it combines my love of black as a grounding element, with the graphic stripe pattern which is both classic and modern at once.
Trend Alert: Add black and white stripes to your party
You’ll remember I’ve even used it my self in this tabletop and here as well.
This trend makes the biggest impact when used on the table as a full covering, or table runner. It pairs amazingly well with almost any color: fuchsia/pink, peach/orange, yellow, green, and sparkly gold are especially stunning. Stripes can be wide, or thin, and the nature of the design will help elongate whatever it is that it’s covering.
I love the accessory pieces I’m seeing, too. Cakes, straws, ribbon, even plates help carry out the bold statement. And what’s better than sharing a peek at the design to come through gorgeous invitations!
Here are some fantastic examples of this trend. Check out the full details of each design via the links below.

What do you think? Is black and white stripes on your list of design trends to incorporate? I’ve most recently found a thinner striped fabric at Hobby Lobby, and a wider stripe online here.
