Game day nacho fries!

You guys know I’ve been working with Alexia Foods and I’ve made some delicious dishes for entertaining, like cheesy bacon potato bites and a savory bread pudding recipe that incorporates rosemary and Parmesan {so good!}. In recognition of the game day and football parties I have one more tasty idea for you using their frozen french fries.

My family LOVES Mexican food and flavors. We also love ordering nacho fries from the appetizer menu at casual restaurants. But, there’s no need to go to a restaurant when you can make these awesome fries at home! I used the Alexia Yukon Gold fries for this, but would have preferred to use the crinkle cut ones because I think the toppings would cling on a little better. Alas, my local stores were sold out of the crinkles so I used these – still delicious of course.

Serve these nacho fries for a casual party including game day, movie night, or a kids sleepover.

I piled all the classic ingredients of nachos onto the fries and we ate it with a fork. Yeah, it was a goooood day. Here’s the official rundown…

Nacho Fries

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 packet taco seasoning blend
  • 2 bags Alexia frozen french fries {Crinkle cut or Yukon Gold}

Brown the ground beef and drain off excess fat. Add black beans and seasoning packet with water according to packet directions.

Meanwhile, cook french fries according to directions.

When ready, serve fries topped with meat & bean mixture and let guests dress with additional toppings as desired.

Toppings

  • Fresh Guacamole
  • Shredded Cheddar cheese
  • Diced tomatoes, onion, and cilantro
  • Sliced Jalapenos
  • Sour Cream

I have these plastic food baskets that I like to use for things like this, especially for a game day where everyone wants to be in front of the tv. They make serving individual portions so easy and convenient.

  1. Those fries look just like the ones we love at a local restaurant (yours have a lot more toppings and look delicious), must try. Great website

Yes, I love being able to control how much of each topping to use. 😉
