A Peppa Pig “Muddy Puddles” Birthday

What a cute and unique birthday party I have to share today. Created by photographer Laura Winslow for her daughter’s 3rd birthday, the theme is from a British cartoon, Peppa Pig and incorporates one of the character’s favorite activities – jumping in muddy puddles! Since my kids are a little older I’m not familiar with the show but I think some of the ideas here would be cute for a “Charlotte’s Web” theme, or even an “April Showers Bring May Flowers” theme.

Laura utilized several talented vendors to pull everything off {see list at bottom}, and with her creative eye for styling, pulled it all together perfectly. From custom graphics & desserts to stylish decorations and food display, here are the details…

  • The bright colors and eye catching backdrop fabric create a focal point for the party. Stacked suitcases and empty frames provide interest to the table, and a fabulous card display fixture was found at an antique store and painted pink to match. It holds favor bags filled with rubber balls and a tag that reads “We Had a BALL.”
  • For the birthday girl, Laura ordered a personalize Peppa book and had the little guests sign it.
  • For activities she printed coloring sheets for the kids, and had “mud puddles” for the guests to step in {cut out from brown craft paper}. They could also don a pair of rubber boots as they “splash.”

Everything is so adorable and thoughtful. I can’t wait to see what you moms and readers think of next!

  1. I really enjoy your creations. Couldn’t help but to ask what did you use to create the “Muddy Puddles” in the cups pictured above?. Is that chocolate I see and if it is not, what is it and is it edible?

    Awesome pictures!

  5. Great ideas for inspiration! My daughter absolutely loves Peppa Pig and so we’re throwing her a Peppa Pig Party for her third birthday coming up in a few weeks. I ordered two Peppa Pig book collections, one that will be one of her birthday gifts, and another that serves as part of everyone’s gift bag – so everyone gets one Peppa book, in addition to other Peppa and pig related items. We’re also doing the muddy puddles paper cut-outs to step on, but as a musical game. I made similar invitations, using powerpoint and incorporating my daughter’s photo, where she also happens to be jumping (thus following the “jump in muddy puddles” theme). There will be a number of folks attending the party who aren’t familiar with Peppa so we hope they get acquainted soon!
