Gold Party Decor

gold party ideas

Did you stay up and watch the Golden Globes last night? I was so excited to see Tina Fey & Amy Poehler host, but the REAL treat is watching the red carpet fashion! With all the glitz and glamour of “award season” I was inspired to put together some gold themed party ideas. Gold is ALL THE RAGE right now and the Oscars are a little over a month away {Feb. 24} so incorporating the color into your party design is a great idea – easy too.

With a couple of cans of gold spray paint, and some edible glitter you can add golden highlights to any occasion with ease. Other useful tools to help you get the look are craft glitter & glue, glittery scrapbook paper, and gold sequins and fabric.

  • Spray paint candle sticks and use them as pedestal risers.
  • Spray paint the base of stem glasses.
  • Srpay paint bottles or vases and fill them with flowers for your centerpiece.
  • Spray paint frames for signage.
  • Tape off a plain tray and paint it, leaving a pattern where the tape was.
  • Use gold chargers under dinner plates or serving plates.
  • Glitter mason jars around the bottom half of the glass.
  • Glitter old wine bottles and fill with flowers.
  • Add glitter to the edges of paper goods like place cards or food labels.
  • Use sequin fabric as a tablecloth or backdrop to food/drinks/photos.
  • Use sequin trim as napkin wraps.
  • Make a circle bunting with scrapbook paper.
  • Make stir stick or food stick flags with scrapbook paper.
  • Use glitter scrapbook paper as “doilies” to set food on for buffet tables.
  • Add edible glitter to cookies, cupcakes, bonbons, etc.
  • Finally, dress the part and add a sequin top to match the party. You’ll still be comfy but stand out as the hostess.

What’s your favorite golden accent to add?  Who was your Best Dressed star last night??

Have a great day!
