Host a guys night outside on the patio with these tips and ideas. I’ve teamed up once again, with Hayneedle, to bring you inspiration for an outdoor party.

We’re so excited to have warmer weather so we can finally enjoy our new patio on a regular basis. My husband has officially opened it up with a guys night party he hosted a few weeks ago. Being the obsessive-compulsive hostess I am, I had to make sure everything was set up for them just so, with a whole lot of help from Hayneedle.

I built the space around the foundation pieces for outdoor living & entertaining I got from them last year, and updated with some terrific new items that helped take it to the next level of comfort and FUN! His guys night party centered around our new pizza oven, some lawn games, and drinks, of course.

We got the wood-fired pizza oven which is quickly becoming the focal point of our patio entertaining. For guys night, my husband pre-made lots of mini pizzas so they were all ready to put in and cook when each guest was ready. The whole experience was a huge hit!

For dining, we updated the bar table with these swivel bar stools that match perfectly! They add a lot of comfort to the space and make it a great spot to linger and maybe play a game of poker if they wanted. I hung outdoor curtain panels to soften the wood framework, and hide the glass doors. Just that small addition of fabric adds so much warmth and intimacy to the space.

I set up a cozy lounge area with the Indoor/Outdoor Area Rug, sectional seating, and a bourbon and whiskey tray complete with cigars. The new Bronze Patio Heater warms up the space when the sun goes down, and even has a built in shelf/table to set drinks on.

When decorating for guys night outside, I kept the colors neutral so it felt masculine. Black and white pillows and cushions add contrast, while potted flowers and decorative items add small spots of color. Having a neutral base to work with allows me to to add any color for any given occasion and transform the look of the party space. See how I did that for my Fall patio decor here.

Several drink options were available, from punch served in the Jacksonville beverage dispenser, to beer on ice inside the rolling cooler cart.

Our new tilt umbrella provided much needed shade at the end of the day since we have a West-facing yard. The transition from sunny afternoon to chilly evening was made seamless with the fire pit seating area, and the patio heater.

Since it doesn’t get dark until after eight, there was plenty of time to play a few rounds of corn hole, and ladder toss. We got the raw wood corn hole set and stained it a dark cherry color. I love that we had the option to paint it or stain it any color or design we wanted. You can really personalize it if you want!

We’re looking forward to hosting more patio parties this summer, with all the comfort of the indoors, out!
