Boys Fishing Party for the Nature Lover

A boys fishing party is the perfect way to celebrate a birthday for any young fellow who loves the outdoors and being close to nature. See the fun diy ideas, here.

Boys fishing party; camping party, outdoorsman party
Summer is half over and I realized I’ve never shared this party inspiration I created for Bird’s Party magazine back in the Spring. My mission was to design a unique party idea for a boy, and of course I used Bird’s Party printables for the paper elements. I decided to create a boys fishing party that would take place over brunch {since everyone knows that’s when the fish are biting}. Check out all the details below …

Boys Fishing Party

  • The setting was a lovely park with a pond, and picnic tables already in place. I set the table with woodsy elements like turkey feathers & deer antlers (actually found in the woods on my in-laws property), a moss table runner with faux ferns, and a wood and branch donuts pedestal as the centerpiece. Stacked donuts topped with cupcake circles make a more logical choice than cupcakes since this was a morning event.
  • Napkins were tied with jute twine and embellished with fishing lures.
  • “Root” beer was personalized with a mini chalkboard hang tag.
  • Since growing boys can get hungry often, I set up a snack table to go with the theme. Trail mix, gummy fish & gummy worms, and diy meringue and marshmallow mushrooms  served on a bed of chocolate “rocks,” will keep them fueled for a morning of fishing and nature hikes.
  • Small favor bags & extra root beer are presented in a small wooden boat, while flowers always add a festive touch.
  • The favor bags contain the ingredients for making s’mores, and can also be filled with extra snacks from the table.

If you have a young boy who loves the outdoors this may be a great idea to celebrate his next birthday.  Gather a couple of his friends and head out to your local fishing hole, or simply re-create this woodsy setting in your own back yard. Design your own boys fishing party or camping party with these ideas.

Happy Party Planning!

Thanks Christi! The setting is a small park near my house. I had been dying to use it for a location shoot but have battled wind there a few times before. LOL
