“Luck O’ The Irish” Baby Shower Theme {Guest Feature}

What a fun and original baby shower sent to us by Jennifer and Jeff of Honeycomb Events & Design! This dynamic duo recently created a “Golden Treasures” baby shower concept that is based around the St. Patrick’s Day holiday, but instead of being kitschy, they elevated the theme with upscale and modern design. And what sweeter sentiment than comparing a new baby to a golden treasure: “Based on the Irish legend that you’ll find a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, this theme is a reminder that nine months of pregnancy brings about it’s own precious treasure.”

Check out all the creative elements and Jennifer & Jeff’s description below…

With this new golden vision dancing around in our heads we used gold coins and gold foil throughout the shower. We brought in a few fresh and vibrant floral arrangements but kept it modern by only using green and white plant life. Florist Samantha Farrington prominently used kale for it’s unique look and with how it mimics the blossom of a flower. The dessert table highlights a little bit of everything in our treasure tale. Moss covered pebbles surround our “treasure chest” of gold coins and intricately decorated shamrock rattle cookies with just a hint of gold shimmer. The cake pops also get the green and sparkling treatment. The mini dessert trend continues with these delicious pistachio mini cakes wrapped in gold ribbon. We finish our desserts with layered green tea and ginger custard. With all these scrumptious treats, you’ll need some refreshing basil infused limeade before you continue on. The backdrop is a hand painted modern lattice pattern that frames this green fantasy table like a lucky dream.”

“A treasure hunt for a Golden Treasure Baby Shower was a must! The fabulous mossy topiaries with golden stems are fantastic holders for our “Treasure Hunt” sign. Each clue leads the player through the party until the last clue brings them to the mom-to be.”

“If you were to attend this baby shower, you’d hope that you’d be leaving with some golden treasures of your own. We make sure that every guest leaves with a little ‘pot of gold’. We created a new take on the traditional pots with these mini cones in a custom stand filled with gold coated jordan almonds. The “potted” favors finish off this delicious pot o’ gold moment.”

What a fantastic shower design.  Use these ideas for a bridal shower too, or a more sophisticated St. Patrick’s day party.  Stay tuned as I’ll be sharing the tutorial for this backdrop soon!
