Wild Safari Birthday Party

Safari birthday party

One of my favorite kids party themes is a Safari theme. Maybe it’s because I love a good animal print {in both fashion & home decor} and the idea of such an exotic escape, but the safari theme always makes me happy. This birthday party was created by Katie of Petite Social, who is always thoughtful and clever in her designs.

She used a neutral color scheme with rustic elements, and set up a darling dessert table, lunch tables, and auxiliary tables for her client. She shares all the details with us below….

Fun Details from Katie:

  • This party can be for a boy or girl. I went with natural, burlap, black, brown and threw in pops of orange.
  • Play on Words — Wild Cupcakes, Python Pops (cake pops), Hydration (water), Python Spots (candy), Safari Sampler (menu), French Flies, Swamp Sauce (dipping sauces), Animal Bites (chicken nuggets), Safari Souvenirs (party favors), Jungle Juice.
  • Use of Vintage Watering Can I had picked up for $5 at a flea market – perfect decor for ‘Jungle Juice’
  • Individually stamped wood utensils to match printables – WILD, EXPLORE, TEDDY, SAFARI
  • Arrow Signs that greeted guests as they arrived
  • In lieu of gifts, guests were asked to bring school supplies to donate to local charity – ‘Unload Supplies Here’ sign.

Event Concept & Styling – Petite Social / Photography – MoxieSox Photography / Fondant Cupcake Toppers – Sugar High, Inc. / Safari Animal Cake Pops – Alexandria Cake Pop Company / Wild Safari Printables – Frosting and Ink / Venue – Belle Haven Country Club

Where can I find the wood utensils?! Everywhere I look I can only find the serving ones- but not “eating” ones!! HELP! (thanks again!)

I love the wood stands. Did you make those? Or purchase them? If so where?

Julie, you can find the wood stands at Michael’s craft store.

Such a fun party! I always love a good Safari theme. And what a cute idea to do instead of presents!

Adorable! I love everything, but the masks on the back of the chairs is clever. Favor and dΓ©cor wrapped in one. πŸ˜‰

I know, Kim. I always love a good form-function combo!
