Here is a popular idea that came from BHG.com. However, many people have wondered where to find little individual sized milk bottles. It is possible to find them in thrift shops but this makes it difficult to get a lot at once, or have them all look alike, so I decided to find an alternative.
I found these 4-packs of Starbucks Frappuccino that are the perfect shape and size(9.5 oz), and pretty affordable at around $5 per 4-pack at Target. The labels peel off easily and I spray painted the lid silver to give it that classic look. I also ran the bottle through the dishwasher and still had to use the rough-side {the “scrubber” side} of a sponge to remove some sticky residue where the label had been. It does come off easily, though. Fill with milk and enjoy your individual milk bottles for kids birthday parties, a cookies and milk party, even a brunch get-together.
UPDATE:….here’s how they look all dressed up!…I used them in my Kids Candy Christmas party here, and also created milk “ghosts” for a Kids Halloween Treats table here…

Hello
ive been trying to get the glue off these bottle for days, how did you do it?
Chris says
As I mentioned, I had to use a rough sided sponge to get the residue off. The kind that’s green on one side (the “scrubber” side).

I asked on fb for anyone who drank these and didnt save the bottles and i have several and was wounding what i could put in them to give for christmas … any ideas .. thanks
Chris says
Yavonna, these would be cute with almost anything sweet and edible inside. Think small candies like m&m’s, hot cocoa mix, kids cereal mix like cheerios + fruity pebbles, etc.
Hope that helps.

Cute milk bottles! What a great idea to get children to drink their milk. I’m sure once they’re done, they’ll immediately want a refill.

Great idea with the milk bottles! Keep the idea coming!

I am doing all the desserts for my daughter’s wedding and I’ve been trying to find a small milk bottle for a “cookies and milk” tray. These would be so perfect. I’m going to fill them and put them in little silver tubs with ice. Thank you for a great solution!

OMG! How lucky am I to come across this post in my “milk bottle” google search. I jumped for joy and ran to the fridge because I happen to have 4 of these little fraps that I just picked up for the week…love iced coffee in the summertime. These will be perfect for my DD’s princess party next weekend. I was about to shell out some serious cash for some bottles and these popped up on my screen. How perfect! Thanks so much for sharing even though I’m two years late. I love your blog and have been an avid reader and subscriber for a year now.

I love this idea! I’m planning on using these bottles next week at my son’s birthday party! How did you get the stamped best by date off though? Thank you so much for your help!

Hi Renee, I don't have a specific resource for milk bottles, but would suggest you do a Google search for "vintage milk bottles" to see if they are still available by the case (as this post is now 2 years old…maybe I should update the wording… : )

I just came across your blog after doing a search for individual milk bottles. I see you mention that there's no "affordable" option in the US. Can you tell me where I can order the ones featured in BHG…..I love them so much I'm willing to pay the cost. Thanks!!!

I have been reusing a dozen starbucks bottles for a couple of years now to pack drinks for lunches. I loke to pack juices and this 9.5 oz bottle is a good portion size. If my forgetful child loses it, no worries. The glass bottles go great through the dishwasher. One downside, the lids only last about 10-15 runs through the dishwasher before they start to rust.
I just discovered Aldi food sells their copy-cat coffee drinks in similar bottles for $1 each.

Hi Tiffany, unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a (affordable)resource in the US for mini milk bottles. The frappaccino bottles have been a great option for me. I don't drink them that much either, but at around $5 for 4 bottles, I don't feel too bad about pouring the drink out so I can use the bottles : )
Darcy says
I’m sure someone drinks them you would know, if not, you could ask on Freecycle or Craigslist. 🙂

I stumbled across your blog today. These snowmen are super cute. Sadly, I don't drink the frappaccinos, so I'm just curious as to where online you can find the individual milk bottles. I've been looking everywhere for them!

Mini choc. chips for the eyes and a little piece of a fruit roll up for the nose would work, too. 😉
They are so adorable!
Thanks for giving us an alternative for the bottles.

Thanks guys. I have added the link to the BHG page. The head is just a white powdered donut hole, and the scarf is made from yarn, however it will be easier to simply cut strips of felt for the scarf. You can also cut tiny fringe into the felt!
They mention edible clay(?) for the eyes and nose, but I think using gel icing would work, and is more accessable.
Hope that helps. Thanks for reading! Cheers!
