She started with a color palette of red and white and added a few stylish accents, including a table cloth that sets the scene perfectly with its nautical rope design.

Each place setting is layered with all the tools guests will need to open their lobster, and there are even bibs and instructions to help them along.

A signature drink is served, as well as white wine. It’s set up on a side table so guests can help themselves.

The themed party favors are little jars of homemade spice mix. The mixture recipe is below.

Homemade Seafood Seasoning

  • 1 tablespoon celery salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 pinch ground dry mustard
  • 1 pinch ground mace (may substitute a tiny pinch nutmeg)
  • 1 pinch ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch ground cardamom
  • 1 pinch ground allspice
  • 1 pinch ground cloves
  • 1 pinch ground ginger

Combine all of the ingredients in a small bowl. Transfer to a container of some sort that has a tight-fitting lid, preferably a glass jar. Set aside in a cool, dark place and use within a couple of months for optimal flavor.
