Easy Hostess Gift – Layered Cookie Mix In A Jar
Do you love to add a personal touch to your hostess gifts? Then why not make this “Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix in a Jar” for a party hostess, a school teacher, or anyone else you like to recongnize over the Holidays. Here’s what you do: Put ingredients in layers, inside a Quart-size canning jar. Cut a circle of fabric and place it between the flat part of the lid and the threaded part of the lid, and screw the lid on. Tie a pretty card on with a ribbon and attach the directions for baking the Chocolate Chip cookies.
Layer ingredients in the order listed.
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 cup simisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup light brown sugar
Attach the Following Directions:You will need:
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
Beat butter at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy. Add egg and vanilla, beating until blended. Add Cookie Jar Mix and stir with a spoon. Drop tablespoon-sized balls onto baking sheet. Bake at 350 for 9-10 minutes. Transfer to wire rack and cool completely.
Makes 2 1/2 dozen.
