DIY No Sew Garland
I love easy peasy craft projects that anyone can do, and that you can change up slightly for multiple uses. Aaliyah of The Sweetest Affair sent in this diy No-Sew Garland that is exactly that. Using a few basic supplies from the craft store you can create a festive hanging garland that is great for backdrops as they hang down straight, or as a swag from one side to the other. What’s more, you can change up the heart shapes used here, for circles or butterflies to create a totally new look!
Supplies:
- 4 shades of colored card stock, scrapbook, or construction paper
- Color coordinated ribbon
- Craft punch in a fun shape {this heart shaped punch is from Martha Stewart}
- Hot glue gun or double stick tape
Steps:
- Punch out as many of the shapes as you’ll need for the length you want, from the colored paper
- Set shapes aside according to color. When applying them to ribbon you’ll create an ombre affect.
- Fold hearts in half, flattening the fold slightly.
- Apply glue or tape to the back of the fold and attach ribbon to it.
- Apply glue or tape to another heart of the same color, and attach it to the ribbon so you have a 3 dimensional look.
- Repeat all the way down the ribbon, spacing 1 to 2 inches apart.
Hang and enjoy!
As I said above, I love the simplicity of this project and how easy it would be to change it from hearts for Valentine’s day {or bridal showers}Â to circles for a birthday party. A big thanks to Aaliyah for sharing!
