DIY Favor Bag Tags

diy favor bag tags for a keys to success theme graduation party

Today I’m going to show you how to make diy favor bag tags to help dress up those plain favor bags or small boxes. After all, the favors are the “punctuation mark” at the end of your party so you want them to be just as fabulous as the party itself. The cool thing about favors is that you can offer simple gifts in thoughtful packaging, OR choose more elaborate gifts with simple packaging {think designer cookies in cellophane bags}.

Here I use brown glassine bags and add a cute tag to the outside to dress it up {originally seen in my Keys to Success Graduation party}. All the supplies were on hand – except the bags – but you could use paper bags just as easily.

DIY Favor Bag Tags

  • Glassine or Paper bags
  • Scrapbook paper or card stock
  • Gold craft paint & sponge brush
  • Stamps to match your theme
  • Corner photo adhesives

Cut paper to size for a tag that will fit on your bag.

Use the sponge brush to paint onto the stamp, them apply to paper.

Paint the photo corners with the gold paint and apply them to the four corners of the paper tag.

Once the paint is dry, attach the tag to the bag using the adhesive backing on the corners.

NOTE: The glassine bags don’t accept the adhesives as well as paper does so I used glue dots to hold them in place.

Fill your bags and set them in a pretty container for guests to pick up and take home with them.

I love how the gold paint adds texture and a different look than using ink.  Now, what do you put in these bags?  Here are some suggestions:

  • homemade cookies
  • candy
  • jewelry
  • gift cards
  • lottery tickets
  • or anything else your heart desires.

These would be terrific for the DIY bride, for teen parties, or for showers.
