Cupcakes & Cocktails Whimsical Christmas

If you like COLOR and SPARKLE and WHIMSY then you are going to love this Christmas party design sent in to us by photographer Melissa Darst. She shared photos of this “Cupcakes & Cocktails” table designed by her mom, Becky Magdalena, for a charity fund raiser event for the American Cancer Society. This event known as “Dining By Design” allows volunteers to create magical tablescapes {so every one is different} which are all showcased during the fund raiser and a night of fine dining.

You know I love a great cause and when efforts to promote it or raise money for it are combined with entertaining, all the better! As Melissa says about her mother’s inspiration for this project: “My mom is also a breast cancer survivor so this cause is near and dear to her heart! Her passion is creating, embellishing, and sharing her love of decorating with friends and family. Her love of Christmas, cupcakes, entertaining and wrapping presents are all things that led to the inspiration behind her table.”

Take a look at all the wonderful details incorporating “cupcakes” and “cocktails” throughout…

  • The tablescape combines vibrant colors with black and white which gives an overall look that is playful but sophisticated. I love the layers of interest in each place setting, and the unique way Becky displayed the forks and napkins – so creative!
  • The adorable “reindeer” cupcakes are more abstract but the antlers and red “nose” are unmistakable.
  • The tree centerpiece is a stunning focal point and would look just as good used on a buffet table.

  • All the embellishments are just fabulous from the glitter ribbon wrapped glasses to the adhesive jewels on paper items and ANTLERS {LOVE}!
  • Even the use of Cupcake Wine and cupcake ornaments is a clever way to carry out the theme.
  • Finally, the paper graphics from Stamped Paper Company are modern and sleek and blend in with the Reindeer Plates used in each place setting.

Every detail of the table design is fantastic to look at and I am sure the guests at this table were excited and impressed.

I’ll leave you with this quote that Melissa says sums up her mother’s thoughts: Live in the moment and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering!” – Fanny Crosby
