7 Summer Dresses

Here are 7 summer dresses I’m loving right now as I shop online for our summer travel plans, and summer entertaining.

Happy Friday friends! A couple of months ago our little family of four booked a trip to Italy this summer, and I can’t begin to tell you how excited we are about it! I’m excited to show our teens that there’s more to the world than the East Coast of the USA…and that vacations aren’t just for the beach or Disney trips. The husband and I have always planned on taking the kids to Europe when they were old enough to appreciate it. Now that they’re 15 and 17 it’s the perfect time!

The thing I love about traveling, whether it’s in the US or abroad, is that it’s SO inspiring. It opens your mind to new ideas, ways of life, people, food…everything! And that comes in pretty handy for creating party ideas and entertaining at home. Visiting New Orleans gave me a new outlook for a Mardi Gras party, and our trip to New York City inspired this sparkling mojito recipe. There’s no question, travel and entertaining are closely linked.

We haven’t been to Europe since 2000, before we had children. At that time we visited Rome in March so the weather was pretty chilly. Since we’ll be heading to Florence and Venice in the summertime I’ve been doing my research on what to wear to “blend in” and not look like a tourist. Everything I’ve read says the Italians are chic and their version of “casual” is more like our version of “business casual.” Lots of dresses and skirts, and NO athletic shoes or flip flops.

I’m currently shopping for a few new things to pack, including comfy walking shoes and sandals. I’m also going to pick up some new comfortable and casual dresses like the ones here.

I love that these 7 summer dresses are loose and flowing. They’re a medium length which is great for walking around, and they can take you from day to night. I’m not sure which one(s) I’ll end up purchasing but I’m partial to # 3 (love that tassel belt), 5, and 6 (I love me a kaftan!).

Which is your favorite? And if you have any fashion or packing tips for travel to Italy, please let us know in the comments! Have a great weekend.

    1. I love a bare shoulder – it’s the only think left that looks good. LOL 😀

  1. Oh my word, these are all so cute. I just ordered #3 for a fiesta inspired fundraiser next month and am debating if I’m not too short to pull off #7! Can’t wait to see which ones you go with. 🙂

    1. Aimee, you’re going to look so fab in that dress! I think you would be fine with #7 also. It looks to be mid-calf length on some regular women (not tall models) who’ve posted photos 😉
