Christmas Tablescape with Sheet Music

I’m really excited to share this music themed Christmas table with you today.  It’s a theme I’ve been thinking about for a couple of years and it’s finally come to fruition.

Music is such a big part of the holiday and it’s one of the things I look most forward to.  From classic Christmas hymns to modern pop Holiday tunes, I love it all!

I used gold & silver and hints of musical touches in my tips for decorating your Christmas tree and this table setting is sort of an extension of that. In fact I will leave this Christmas tablescape right here ready for our meal!

Check out all the ideas and details and let me know which is your favorite!

I began by covering my dining table with a black table cloth. If you’re using folding tables, these fitted table cloth covers go all the way to the floor.

I found a book of vintage sheet music a few years ago while thrift shopping. It makes a fantastic table runner, just by layering sheets on top of one another down the length of the table. Scrapbook paper in a sheet music print will work just fine too.

A bouquet of red and white roses add a beautiful pop of color, and the gold ribbon ties it into the rest of the table. I have to tell you I’ve had this flower arrangement for about 2 1/2 weeks now! I’ve kept it in the refrigerator to keep it fresh but had no idea it would last this long. I’m thrilled to say the least.

Even though I have an artificial Christmas tree, there are evergreens in the common areas of the neighborhood, so I cut off a few limbs from the bottom and added them to the table. Small gold musical instrument ornaments are nestled in for extra detail.

Christmas Party Favors

Each place setting is rather simple, with a small gift for each guest.

  • The ladies get a lovely fragrant soap that’s wrapped in themed paper, and each ribbon has a different detail.
  • For the guys, insert small items like key chain flashlight or bottle opener, into a tissue paper roll. Wrap it in kraft paper and add ribbon at the ends.  Dress it up with themed washi tape and a button detail.

The water pitcher gets some creative touches as well.  Instead of topping it with the wooden ball it comes with, I added a ball ornament to the top.  I LOVE that idea!  Add a little fresh rosemary and frozen cranberries to the water for a very festive look.

Buffet Table Decor

Before any food hits the buffet, dress it up with coordinating decor.

It’s easy to make these DIY music paper trees from the same vintage music book I mentioned above. You can find my tutorial for it here.

I cut a piece of themed scrapbook paper and added glittered letters to spell “JOY.”  Placed it in my vintage floral frog and covered it with a glass cloche.  I think it looks modern and elegant.

More greenery and some antlers I spray painted gold complete the look.
