Tips for hosting girls night in

I’m all about a Girls Night In. I think one of the best things we can do for ourselves is to stay connected with our women friends on a regular basis.

I’ve always been part of a group that meets up each month for food, fun, and drinks! I love these ritual outings and I’m hoping your neighborhood will be full of life and social butterflies too.

Although most get-togethers are always scheduled, sometimes you end up having those last minute gatherings because a small group decides they’re free and want to do something casual.

I’m sharing tips for hosting girls night in when you haven’t had time to plan. It’s all about being prepared ahead of time!

PARTY TIP: Keep some party staples on hand, so no last minute shopping required!

Easy Food for ladies night

The first thing is food. It’s always a good idea to have on hand certain items that you can bring out at a moments notice.

  • Cheese and crackers for a charcuterie party board
  • Baked brie with a topping such as pepper jelly or other preserves
  • Chips and dip, or salsa
  • Nuts, mini pickles, and olives

Add a fun activity

Some people love to have something to “do” when they have a get-together. Personally I just love the freedom to mix and mingle and chat up a great conversation.

These conversation starter questions are always a hit and can generate some lively and hilarious responses. Print them out and use them any way you like. Tie them on to glasses, turn them into cards, or put them in a jar and grab one at random.

Make Pitcher drinks for easy hosting

You should always have some beverages stocked so you can offer something to your guests. Pitcher party drinks can be a lifesaver in this instance.

Pour them into pitchers and serve on a tray with some cute striped straws and fruit garnish. Instant party!

Serve something sweet

It’s easy to keep sweet treats on hand, especially when you shop the freezer section at stores like Trader Joe’s. They have these teeny tiny ice cream cones that are just the cutest things ever, not to mention the perfect portion size.

  • Keep chocolate bars and dried fruit on hand so you can put together a chocolate tasting charcuterie board.
  • Colorful and flavorful sherbet is also convenient to have on hand. Use a tiny scoop to fill shot glasses, or add them to your drink for extra flavor.
  • Chocolate or vanilla ice cream is always a favorite.
  • Chocolate brownie mix can be whipped up in no time.
  • Slice and bake cookie dough is a last minute life saver!

What to Wear for Girls Night In

Every girl needs a go-to outfit that she can throw on and feel great in.  Something you don’t have to think too much about, and you know just what accessories you’ll add.

One of my favorite outfits is a pair of slim white capris paired with a loose flowy top.

Jewelry in a complimentary color adds pops of interest, and I NEVER wear flats when socializing so an easy slip on wedge is a must!

What items do you like to keep on hand for last minute entertaining?
