“The Great Outdoors” Birthday Party {guest feature}

I have more Summer party inspiration to share with you today.  This birthday party was sent to me by Christie of Three Pixie Lane, and is full of old fashioned outdoor fun for her 8 year old son.  The children enjoyed playing in the newly built tree house, swimming, and canoeing – very Huck Finn!

Christie used the classic checked pattern in blue, and red to set the mood and incorporated enamelware serving pieces for a country feel.   I love the little details of using the metal “8” as a napking holder and table sign, as well as spelling out the name using various materials.

The tree house was surely a hit with it’s pulley system used to bring up snacks.  Old fashioned bandana packs were used to hold more snacks and serve as favors.   And the birthday boy received an adventure kit full of items to help him explore the great outdoors.

Thanks so much for sharing your son’s birthday with us Christie!

  1. LoVe. Red enamelware is dear to my heart! A perfectly rustic celebration!

  2. So gorgeous, and looks like so much fun! I love the colour combination and all the little details! I can see a lot of work went into that!
