Tea Parties

tea party baby shower

I have a DARLING tea party baby shower to show you today, from Flavia of Fete a Fete. This is for the “lady” in you who loves all things dainty and frilly. Flavia hosted the shower for a long time friend and used lots of vintage and shabby chic details like the chalkboard painted tray, lace & floral prints, and silver serving pieces.

There’s so much sweetness here to be inspired by, and would work well for bridal showers, Mother’s Day, a women’s group, or a milestone birthday. See the details and read what Flavia has to say below…

When a dear {pregnant} friend of mine announced she was coming to visit from Canada, I jumped at the opportunity to pamper her with an intimate baby shower. I put together a vintage afternoon tea party in a “shabby chic” style that she loves. I re-purposed a lot of items I already had to serve as decorations and serving pieces. What I did buy came from thrift stores and flea markets. I asked that guests come “in a vintage mood – and outfit.” I also offered the ladies accessories such as gloves, tiaras, fascinators, pearls, feather boas, shawls and lace hand fans. As party favors, I made chocolate-covered spoons and put them inside delicate organza drawstring bags with a note that read “Stir your hot milk with this chocolate spoon for a real treat!” It was a lovely and fun afternoon and a sweet way to show my friend how much we all love her and how happy we are with her family addition”

Tea Parties never get old. I think they’re so popular because they bring back that sense of etiquette and refinement from a couple of generations ago. It’s also a fun way for grown women to play “dress up” with feather boas, hats, & gloves. You can see EVEN MORE of this shower here. And see how to make DIY chocolate dipped spoons here.

Have a great day!
