Pretty Brunch Tea Party {Guest Feature}

I have a brunch “tea party” to share with you that’s so feminine and pretty it’s great for girls both big and small. Nikki of Tikkido, designed this party for Festivities e-magazine, that’s filled with homemade breakfast fare, and creative embellishments.

The setting couldn’t’ be any more magical as it sits under a canopy of trees, which is the perfect base for hanging decor.  This type of party could be set up the day before so that all you have to do in the morning is set the table and prepare the food.  See all the details and read on for Nikki’s description below…

As told by Nikki: “This party is one of the five parties from the new magazine that Paula from Frog Prince Paperie and I created, Festivities. Think girly. Think tea party. Soft pinks and greens, china, crystal, damask, lace. Every girly-girl’s tea party fantasy.

This was a brunch party, so though we had sweets, they were the sweets of classic brunch fare. We served mini quiches; prosciutto wrapped asparagus; homemade cinnamon rolls; homemade scones and strawberry jam; damask-printed chocolate-covered Oreos; and the crowning glory, a crepe cake made with homemade lemon curd and vanilla pastry cream fillings between the 20-some layers.

My favorite element of the party was the serving table. Rather than a standard banquet style table, I used a 3 tier, pie-edged, butler’s table that I painted pale pink. It looks like a giant cupcake stand! I knew from the moment I saw it on Craigslist that it must be mine.

A blush-pink punch served in crystal punch glasses made the little girls feel elegant and grown up. Tangerine mimosas were served to the mamas.

The party was held in a cave of green formed by a single large grapefruit tree. The dappled morning light streaming through the branches added an absolutely magical glow to this perfect tea-party setting. Decor was simple–the beautiful natural surroundings, charming birdhouses painted by the children and moms, and strands of tissue paper flower garland.”
