Peacock Inspired Party

peacock inspired party ideas

I believe ANYTHING can spark your imagination and inspire you to design a festive party.  You don’t need a special occasion to do it either.  I’ve been known to create a party around some cool whimsical cocktail napkins, as well as a unique centerpiece idea… I even designed a back yard shrimp boil one time because I found a small wooden boat I wanted to use!  Usually it’s for a ladies night get together because we would do those monthly, but it could also be a mixed cocktail party, or couples dinner party.

When Diet Pepsi shared their new chic can designed by Vern Yip, it inspired me to think about entertaining while incorporating a peacock theme.

  1. Make a toast with your guests using vintage blue glassware or blue mason jars.
  2. Dress the part in a playful peacock dress.  My favorite is a maxi dress – it’s so comfy and forgiving!
  3. Any time you can coordinate your drinks to your party is great by me!  Add these Diet Pepsi cans to the bar for guests to pour their own drink or mix up in a cocktail.
  4. Send friends home with a classic party popper party favor that’s been embellished with a single peacock feather {available at your craft store}.
  5. Nothing says “party” like hanging decor!  Swag a color coordinated bunting from the ceiling, above the table for instant atmosphere.
  6. You don’t need peacock feathers everywhere – a few well placed themed pieces get the point across.  These peacock napkins are the perfect accessory to the party.
  7. Set up a lovely food table using a blue color scheme.  Use blue hydrangeas for the centerpiece, incorporate blue striped straws for drinks, a blue table cover, and a few well chosen foods to carry out the party palette.

Have you ever been inspired by something small, to created a party theme?  Let us know!

Peacock is such an underrated color – we adore it and recently used it for a dinner party in a field in napkins that studded the 80′ long table. It made such an impact!
