Trend Alert – Paper Place Mats

I’m a little obsessed lately with paper placemats, and by the looks of things, so are a lot of other folks too. I’m seeing so many styles that are being sold in pads of 50, as well as printable versions. I’ve seen them online for a couple of years but wasn’t completely smitten until I got this vintage style above and used it in my Keys to Success tablescape.

The impact these papers make on a tabletop is amazing and economical – great to use for larger gatherings on a small budget. Here are some more options & resources below…

Perhaps the most popular name in paper placemats is “CAKE,” and their designs are sold through retailers like Layla Grayce . I love the variety they have which is neutral enough to fit into many color palettes, and there are modern patterns as well as vintage ones. They also have more whimsical version like the nautical theme, and blueprint theme {cute for kids parties too}.

My top 3 reasons for using these placemat pads is simple:

  1. You get 50 placemats for about $25, which is a great value.
  2. This simple item can help transform a tablescape, with only a few other accessories needed.
  3. They are disposable so cleanup is a breeze.

I also found these retro style pads on Amazon, from Studio Oh.  There are 13 different designs to choose from in an array of styles.

Another resource for these pads is Kim Prints Designs {below}. There is a HUGE variety to choose from with lots of “theme” related designs as well as “all-occasion” use. Great for baby showers, kids parties, ladies luncheons, etc.

Of course there are printable versions too…

BTW, I’ve also found some more designs sold at Steinmart stores, so if you have one of those locally you may want to check it out.

What do you thing about these paper placemats? Would you use them? What’s your favorite design?

    Chris –
I have also been drawn to some paper placemats lately. My favorite are from Rebecca Ray Designs. They come in packs of 40 and each pack has four designs. There is an equestrian theme pack or sporting dogs. I love that they are also reversible to vintage postcard images. AND I love that they are made in America.
    Check them out!
