Celebrate The Oogieloves Movie With A Party

Have you heard about the new Oogieloves movie coming out in a couple of weeks {I just saw my 1st movie trailer on tv last night}? Well, Celebrations.com is working with the studio to promote this interactive kids movie and I was lucky enough to be assigned the task of creating the “ultimate Do It Yourself themed party” inspired by the film!

As you know, my goal is to always design parties that can easily be re-created by YOU, so this was quite fun for me to do. EVERYTHING in the party was inspired by the movie’s colors, set design, characters, and the overall plot {The Big Balloon Adventure}. Once again Kori of Paper and Pigtails designed the most darling paper goods to go along with it. Here are some of the details below…

I set up a brightly colored seated table and dessert table. The tablescape is simple, but with diy details like monogrammed juice bottles & embellished wooden utensils, it’s inviting and fun. I had Kori create the name card tents so that they become “pop-up balloons” when folded over. I also wanted to incorporate an activity card so I had her design this Oogieloves maze to find the big balloon at the end.

For the dessert table, I had to add in big golden balloons just like in the film. The base of the table is a piece of astro turf to reflect the outdoor setting of the movie, and each treat on the table is inspired by, and named after specific movie characters: ‘Dotty Rounder’ cupcakes, ‘Bobby Wobbly’ bubbles {he loves bubbles}, ‘Lero & Lola’s’ maracas, ‘Milky Marvin’ milkshakes, their friend ‘Ruffy’ the goldfish, and ‘Rosalie Rosebud’ roses for decoration.

You can see all the DIY’s by following the links, and if you have young children you can host a movie themed party just like this for birthdays or to celebrate the premiere!
