Mother’s day is just days away but there’s no need to panic if you haven’t thought of anything to do yet. I’m here to let you know you can pull off a fabulous Mother’s Day brunch in 5 easy steps.

We moms don’t need much to make us happy when it comes to our kids and family. A thoughtful brunch is a great way to start the day and here are some ideas you can implement for your mom, or forward to your own family *wink*

  1. Set a pretty table but keep is simple with small vases filled with inexpensive flowers. Use fabric remnants in pretty colors and patterns as napkins {something I’ve been preaching for years}. Place it all on a solid table cloth or keep the table “naked” for a more casual feel.
  2. When you start the day with a mimosa you know it’s a real celebration! Make these orange frozen mimosas from The Blend.
  3. Don’t spend all morning in the kitchen cooking. Prepare this breakfast casserole the night before and pop it in the oven when you wake up.
  4. A celebratory brunch should have salty and sweet so create a small waffle station to build your own waffles like this one from Occasions. Frozen waffles, a toaster, and some toppings are all you need.
  5. Finally, print out this beautiful FREE printable sign from My Fabuless Life. I love how it coordinates with the table setting perfectly, and it’s a great place holder for mom, or can be given as a card.

Once mom has enjoyed her leisurely morning, let her do something she wants to do whether it’s going shopping, enjoying a day of pampering, visiting friends {or her own mom}, or just curling up with some favorite movies, undisturbed. When my kids were really young I used to go on a Mother’s Day house and garden tour in Richmond, with a girl friend. It was a great way to spend the afternoon.

How will you celebrate Mother’s day this Sunday?
