Melissa Bahen – Baker, Cook, Crafter, & Party Lover

Melissa has been baking and making for as long as she can remember. When she was little, she wanted to open a catering business with her cousin and call it “Cousins Catering” (really creative name, right?). Instead, she graduated from college with a degree in Biology and a teaching license, and taught high school science for 5 years before choosing to stay home with her 3 adorable kids. Although she and her cousin never started that catering company, she still spends hours each day in the kitchen baking up tasty treats for friends and family.

When she’s not cooking, Melissa likes to throw baby showers and birthday parties, sew summer clothes for her kids, and collect eggs from the illegal chickens in her backyard. She and her family dream of moving out to the country someday and having a little hobby farm. In the meantime, they stay busy with the 2 beehives, 5 pigs, and 60+ chickens Melissa’s in-laws have been somehow talked into keeping on their property outside of town. Melissa writes about her adventures in food, family, and farming at Lulu the Baker.

Bridgett Edwards – Designer & Entrepreneur

Bridgett is a multi-talented creative entrepreneur. After marrying the love of her life in 2006, she began a wedding planning business. After planning many successful weddings, she soon decided it wasn’t the lifestyle she wanted when they started to grow their family, so she embarked on a new venture.

She began designing personalized stationery and gifts during nights and weekends while holding down a full-time job at a big sports television network. Her business took off as she was received press in big name sites such as Daily Candy Kids, Real Simple and Cool Mom Picks. Bridgett then extended her business to offer logo design and product photography to other small businesses. Right after her son was born this May, she left the corporate world of 8 years to raise her 2 beautiful children and run her businesses full-time.

When she’s not changing diapers or crafting a project with her 5 year old, Bridgett enjoys cooking, baking, exercising and entertaining.
