Inspiration Board for a Bridesmaids’ Luncheon

bridesmaid luncheon inspiration board

This summer I’ve been collecting some new items for entertaining and decided I wanted to create an inspiration shoot that would incorporate the old with the new. I love the tradition of a bridesmaids luncheon so that’s the direction I chose.

Today I thought I’d share my inspiration board with links to some of the items I used {or similar}, but don’t worry, I’ve saved some surprises for the actual shoot {see it here} which I’ll be sharing soon. Think Mod meets Vintage with lots of mix-n-match details!

  1. Napkins – Gold is everywhere so I wanted to stock up on a set of napkins that would be versatile and classic. This gold and white circlet design is just detailed enough to add interest, but subtle enough that it pairs well with other prints and colors too.
  2. Gold Napkin Rings – Wrap up those napkins with this set of gold napkin rings. I love that each one is a different shape!
  3. Gold flatware – Gold flatware has been all over the interwebs the past couple of years and it’s difficult to find an “affordable” set {sorry, $30 for a 5 piece place setting is not affordable in my book, when you need at least 8 place settings}, plus they’re always sold out! I was lucky enough to find a complete set for 8 at HSN for about $45! But now, you guessed it – they’re sold out :-( EDITED TO ADD: This new set available at Target!
  4. Gold Serving pieces – The gold flatware set I bought came with a set of 5 serving pieces, but lacked these long salad servers. This is a good pair to round out the set.
  5. Footed compote – This little dish is the perfect size for small candy displays, fruit, or flower arrangements. I love the size, the neutral white color, and the vintage detailing.
  6. Ruffle edge Serving bowl – I found a similar bowl at HomeGoods for far less, and I love using it for salads and other side dishes.
  7. Wine – When pairing white wine with food, Pinot Grigio is my wine of choice. This one from Santa Margherita coordinates with the golden decorative details, plus it’s dry and pairs well with white meat, which is on the menu.
  8. Pink Depression glass Coupes {vintage} – I’ve become a little obsessed recently with collecting lots of different glassware. On one of my thrift store outings I found a set of 6 pink depression glass coupes for less than $24! They look beautiful on the table next to the green hobnail glasses.
  9. Green hobnail tumblers – These are brand new but have that vintage hobnail design, and the green color is so pretty.
  10. Ivory petal taffeta tablecloth – Remember the Valentine’s dessert table I did and used the shower curtain as a tablecloth? Well, you can also find the same design in an ACTUAL tablecloth, in all sorts of shapes and sizes.
  11. Ghost chairs – I LOVE my ghost chairs as a stylist, but I also love having them stationed throughout the house in the foyer, at a desk, and as a pull-up chair that sits against the wall when not in use.
