Cookies & Milk Party For Grown Ups!

Think cookies and milk parties are just for kids? You won’t after seeing this styled bridal shoot by Love and Lavender and Jonda Spurbeck Photography! There are such cute ideas here for any bridal shower, engagement party, or even a wedding reception. The wooden stands coupled with bales of hay are the perfect rustic foundation for the cookies and milk bars, while country baskets and wood plank signs add character to the stylish display…

The cookie bar is actually set on top of an old window that has been placed on hay bales. This is a great creative touch that doesn’t cost much. Homemade cookies flank the cake which has the most original and whimsical topper on it – 2 hard boiled eggs dressed up like a bride & groom! Guests can wash it all down with their choice of milk flavors served in old country style jars (from Pottery Barn).

The shoot included a very cute guest activity and sign in table. A “Recipe for Love” sign was made which laid out how the bride & groom met, in recipe format. There were also “recipe cards” available for guests to write down their own recipe for love and file away in a recipe box for the couple.

The tabletop is set with a ruffled runner and vintage-style details. Napkins are rolled and tied with cookie cutters, and the menus are nailed to a cedar shingle (love that idea!). More kitchen items such as an old scale, and flour sifter add to the vignette. More hay is placed for seating in lieu of chairs.

As the final touche, milk bottles are filled with layered cookie mix for guest favors, and topped with pretty fabric.

I love the use of painted wooden signs throughout the design and these would also make great photo booth props. I hope you will incorporated some of these ideas for your next adult party or bridal shower. Happy Party Planning!

Hi ! Love, love love the whole thing. Any way to get the recipe of the cookies to put in the cute milk bottles. I am having a baby shower this Friday and would love to give those away as favors. Thanks so much.

    • Debbie, there was no recipe given for the cookie mix. The bottles are 9 oz so maybe you could do a Google search for a layered recipe for an 8 oz container??

  8. Mahshid Khaksari says:

Where could I purchase the Receipe for love cards?

    • Those are from Love & Lavender {link is in the post}. They were made for the shoot but you may be able to contact them about the download for it.
