What to Wear for a Casual Dinner Party

A casual dinner party outfit is essential for the home hostess {or guest}. See the outfit I’m craving, below.

A fun casual dinner party outfit that's just my style. A little edgy and a little feminine equal a lot of style.

It’s fashion Friday! I haven’t done a fashion post in forever, but since it’s the change of seasons and I’m seeing lots of fashion segments on tv these days, I was inspired to create my own perfect hostess outfit. This is the outfit I’m craving right now and I would wear it to host a fun dinner party at home, out to a restaurant with a group of friends, or as a guest at a party.

Casual Dinner Party Outfit:

  • This outfit combines some of my favorite things like a full flirty skirt, a graphic tee (tucked in), and edgy studded booties.
  • The hottest trend of the season is fringe and a little goes a long way on this sassy clutch.
  • Even though everyone uses their phone for the time these days, I still love a big chunky watch as an accessory. Give me a man’s watch, which is larger than a woman’s, and it’s all the better!
  • Rings have never been more fun to wear, too. There used to be the old rule that you shouldn’t wear more than one ring per hand. Not anymore. It’s trendy to load up 2 or 3 fingers on one hand with thin delicate rings, or where them stacked on a single finger. Or you can get more bang for your buck with cage rings which can cover half the finger. It’s time to have fun and play!
  • Finally, if you’re the guest don’t forget the hostess gift; and if you’re the host, a bottle of bubbly is the perfect accessory always!

This casual dinner party outfit is fabulous because it combines silhouettes and styles for a very chic look. It’s eclectic and cool, and looks good on every body type. What could be better than that? If you’re not a high heel person, try a classic ballerina flat. It would work equally well.

See buying information on my Polyvore board here. Cheers!
