Buttons And Bows Birthday

This party feature today just took my breath away. Created by Dawn of Ruby May Designs, for her daughter’s birthday, this Buttons and Bows party is very sophisticated but still girly enough for a 5 year old. The focal point is of course the dessert cabinet and has lots of details without feeling out of reach for all the moms planning their kids parties. Check out all the pretty touches and read what Dawn has to say about it below…

I decided on a Buttons and Bows theme, as it hasn’t been done a lot, and Ruby is a girly girl and loves all things pretty ( as do I !). It started with the labels from Meri Meri, and my sister sells them in her shop in Dublin, Ireland ( Treat Deli & Giftshop). I also got the little clothes line from there, its a Maileg product, suppose to used for hanging out the little mouses clothes ! but I had other ideas for it ! After that it was a case of pulling the rest together. I got the letters and put all the buttons on, and then did the welcome board outside. I made all the sugar buttons for the cake, cupcakes and cookies, and worked on the colours to try and tie in with everything else. I made the cake and the cupcakes, and the bunting banner. I got the cookies from a local girl Nikki Cougle. The personalised bags are from a company called Paper Nook.com, great selection of great bags ! I love styling, and dont like it to be overdone, I’m a less is more kind of girl! I hope to style many more parties, as I get excited about finding different ideas, or items to use in different ways.”

I can’t wait to see more from Dawn in the future. I love all the button embellishments and the mini clothes line is to die for! Another great example of how simple but thoughtful styling can make a party gorgeous!
