Boys Camping Party

This week has been a lot about adult entertaining and today we’re switching gears for an amazing kids party feature. This Camping themed party was sent to us by Jami of Jami’s on Sweet Street, and was for her son’s 3rd birthday. I’m in love with all the retro style camping gear she used in the decor, and the diy tents are TO DIE FOR!

Jami made the desserts, of course, and also offered a s’mores table and trail mix bar. You’re going to love the details below and you may even want to camp your self after this!

Here’s what Jami has to say about the party: “I wanted to keep the party very simple and small this year but once I started seeing all of this amazing “antique” camping gear everywhere I couldn’t resist. I love the look of old-time, vintage camping. The images of 6 kids and 2 happy parents singing road-trip songs in their boat-of-a-stationwagen pulling a tiny little tear-drop trailer seems like the ideal reality of camping so I wanted to portray that while keeping it still very boy-ish.

My wonderful neighbor built the tent frames for me. I painted the various wooden signs that we posted all over the yard. The kids played the good ol’ games of tug-o-war, 3 legged race, sack races, and I even found a tent pinata at an online party store.

The goody bags included camping related items such as a compass, lantern, mosquito repellent bracelets, camping temporary tats, flashlights, pop rocks, etc, etc. The adults got cans of OFF! and really cool fire-starters that I found on Etsy. Everyone enjoyed making their own trail mix to take home at the Trail Mix Bar.

Next to our real bonfire, a “S’more Fun” s’more table was setup. Yummy!! My favorite part.

The dessert table included camping themed cookies, bear poop (chocolate no-bakes), cake pops, a s’more cake, and a camping cake. The adorable little camping props that I used as the cake topper came straight from the camping mecca of the world, Cabelas!”
