Easy Party Snack

If you’re a potato chip lover you will certainly want to make this appetizer snack recipe for football game day parties and other casual gatherings.

My husband and I recently had a happy hour date at a local restaurant, and one of the items we ordered was blue cheese & balsamic potato chips. We had no idea they would be SO DELICIOUS!

I’m not a junk food or dessert junkie, but I AM a chip junkie! While other folks are focused on the sweets and dessert tables, I’m over here thinking about the savory snacks & appetizers. And there’s no better savory, salty item than potato chips!

I decided to re-create that restaurant appetizer for our hot dog roast, so I started with our favorite bag of chips, Kettle brand, and topped them in the same way. It’s a great way to dress up potato chips and make them special.

We’ve been buying Kettle brand chips for years and I used the crinkle cut ones for these chocolate drizzled potato chips. I’ve also mixed them with m&m’s for a sweet & savory combo that’s hard to beat. In a nutshell, kettle chips are my jam!

Ingredients

  • Kettle brand potato chips with sea salt
  • Crumbled Blue Cheese
  • Balsamic Glaze (find it in the salad dressing or marinade aisle)
  • Ranch dressing
  • Bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • Green onion, chopped

The balsamic glaze adds such a great flavor to the chips and when it mixes with the ranch dressing and blue cheese it’s a marriage made in heaven.

How to Make It

You can make this without heating it up. The heating step just helps the cheese melt ever so slightly.

  1. Arrange potato chips on an oven safe dish or sheet pan, and sprinkle on the blue cheese.
  2. Warm in oven at 350F degrees for about 3-4 minutes, or microwave for about 10 seconds. Just enough to get the cheese warm.
  3. Remove dish and drizzle with ranch dressing and balsamic glaze. Sprinkle with bacon and green onions and serve.
