Baby Shower Inspiration By Rutherford Papers

I’ve said time and time again that invitations can be one of the best sources of inspiration for themes, party decor, food, etc. With that in mind I chose one of the baby shower invitations from our newest sponsor, Rutherford Papers, and put some ideas together for a “gender reveal baby shower.”

  • I was drawn to the invitation by it’s soft color palette, and the bowl of ice cream {always a fun party food} and set out to find some photos that would represent this shower.
  • The obvious first choice is to set up an ice cream bar and the one I found here works beautifully.  Decorate the party in pale yellow with touches of pink and blue throughout.
  • Next, a pretty table setting can be set for a mid-day luncheon or brunch.
  • Playful guests will get a kick out of these felt lips & mustaches.  You can incorporate these in a variety of ways: let guests choose one depending on their guess as to whether the baby is a boy or a girl; OR use these to play the traditional game where you collect one from another guest each time that guest says an “off limits” word of the day; these are great for photo ops too.
  • Pick a fun way to let guests know whether you’re having a boy or girl. This idea of letting balloons out of a box, in either pink or blue, is adorable and festive.
  • Finally, send guests home with favor boxes {large matchbook boxes dressed up with paper and washi tape} filled with sweet treats.

See how easy it is to put together a party when you have an invitation as a starting point?!
