What to Wear :: Block Party

This coming weekend we’re having our neighborhood block party, and since we live in the cul-de-sac it’s right outside our front door. Yay! It’s like hosting a party but without all the work. All we really have to do is provide meat to grill for our family, our drinks, and something to share with everyone {food or supplies}. Of course it also means by default we’ll end up supplying the restroom, some music, and whatever else is conveniently located. I’m looking forward to relaxing and watching the kids play.

I’m also thinking about what I’ll wear to this social mixer. It’s supposed to be a perfectly sunny day in the mid-70’s, and casual of course.

  • My go-to pant for this time of year is a capri, and I just bought a new pair of cuffed jean capris by Michael Kors. To top it I’d love to have this Alexander McQueen graffiti skull tank. I love a rocker edge and this one has color and a cool graphic design.
  • A comfortable wedge is my shoe of choice. I don’t care how casual the event is, I will always choose a heel of some sort. Your shoes are a great place to add color too. And since we’ll be starting in the mid afternoon, a sassy hat and shades are a must.
  • Chain earrings and a wide cuff are the perfect accessories for a casual outfit like this. I usually go for a statement necklace OR earrings, but not both at the same time.
  • To keep our drinks nice and cold and by our side, I’m seriously considering getting this retro style cooler from World Market. I LOVE the design and it even has a bottle opener on the side!

You can find all the links to these items here.

What are your plans for the weekend and how do you style it? I’d love to hear from you! Have a great day.
