Last week I had the chance to do something a little different for work. In fact it was right up my alley and no exertion required! My task was to watch an episode of Home Made Simple on the OWN network and review. Well, since I’m pretty much a home decorating show junkie, I was all in!
Do you love to watch home decorating and design shows too? I love to watch them, not so I can necessarily make what they’ve made, but I’m always inspired by the design and decor overall. Even if it’s nothing more than how they’ve arranged the coffee table.
The episode I watched was “A Nursery Built for Two” and you guessed it, it was all about turning the guest room into a nursery for twins. There was a bonus on this episode too. They also planned a baby shower and shared a party recipe and watermelon baby carriage tutorial. I loved that.
The host of the show is Soleil Moon Frye and she’s adorable. The designers are also likable and I really liked the projects they did as well as the finished room. You can see a peek at what they did in the photo collage above. The nursery was gray and yellow for a gender neutral space that could be turned masculine or feminine as the babies grow. The projects they highlighted were “birch tree” cutouts applied to the wall and turned into shelves, a painted desk turned changing table, and bird house night lights. They were all nice, but I especially LOVED the tree-shelves, and the night lights. The table was cute too and probably better suited to beginners to intermediates.
If you love getting new ideas and being inspired by home decorating shows like I do, you can catch episodes each week on Saturday mornings (9am ET/ 8am CT) on the OWN channel. And if you missed something or need to get more step by step instructions you can visit the Home Made Simple TV site for videos and articles.
Let me know if you tune in and what you think. Have a great weekend!
