HOMEMADE ALFREDO SAUCE RECIPE

homemade Alfredo sauce

So, what do you serve for a black and white dinner party you ask? Black and white pasta with Alfredo sauce of course! This is a delicious well-balanced meal and ties in perfectly with the color theme I created for my Apothic White shoot from yesterday.

I found black and white bowtie pasta at HomeGoods and made homemade Alfredo sauce to pour over it. I got this recipe last year as I was visiting my best friend from college. She served it for lunch and told me how easy it was to make. I have to admit I wanted to pour it into a bowl and eat it like soup! It’s so good!

The consistency is thinner than what you get in a jar so keep that in mind. It was also delicious drizzled over the asparagus!

Homemade Alfredo Sauce

  • 1 pint Heavy whipping cream
  • 1 1/2 cups {about 5 ounces} Parmesan cheese, finely shredded
  • 1/2 cup {1 stick} butter

In a medium sauce pan, over medium-low heat, combine cream and butter until hot and bubbly. Let cook until reduced slightly.

Add shredded cheese and stir until melted.

Remove from heat and let stand 5 minutes to thicken.

Ladle over freshly cooked pasta, or add pasta to sauce and toss to coat.

Top with freshly ground pepper to taste.

To round out the meal, serve blackened tilapia {I used this recipe} and asparagus.  If you can find white asparagus that would be even more apropos!

Have a great day!
