CAH in Macy’s Gift Registry Guide

Macy's digital gift guide

For the past 3 years or so, this world of blogging and freelance has brought some fantastic jobs and opportunities. Each year it seems to be something new – first it was being offered some great contributor positions, next it was working with and creating content for sponsors I’ve been a fan of for a long time, and this year I’ve had some interesting opportunities that don’t necessarily fall into those categories but are exciting nonetheless.

For instance, I was contracted to write copy for a mat release for Morton Salt earlier this year. It’s something similar to a press release so it’s more under the radar compared to most of the work I do, but it called upon my expertise in party planning and was thrilling to be a part of. Next, I was given the opportunity to provide content for Miracle Grow’s new website and “Grow Something Greater” campaign {remember my favorite plant recommendations and giveaway}.

The most recent coo for me was to land a photo and mention in the Macy’s Ultimate Registry Guide for brides, over on The Knot. This is something completely new and thrilling because I was compensated for the use of my photo, which was very validating since I’m CONSTANTLY striving to improve my photography skills. And in a world where Photoshop is king, I publish my pictures the old fashioned way – some simple editing and no fancy filters, so I’ve become obsessed with improving myself.

The guide is full of gift ideas, inspiration, recipes, and more. In order to highlight summer entertaining and showcase some of their products, they used my retro-inspired tropical themed party as the inspirational scene. You can find it on page 47-48. There are also a few of my tips included to help others get the look.

Below, you can see another peek inside the issue. I highly suggest you look through the entire digital publication {linked above} for more gifts and tips for yourself or anyone.

This is not a sponsored post, but I wanted to share some of the fun things that I’ve been blessed and fortunate to be a part of this year.

Honestly I never know what new surprises this job will bring and I LOVE being able to do what I feel like I was born to do. Thanks to all the loyal readers {and Pinners, and Google+’ers for sharing}!  Cheers!
