5 Fun Football Party Ideas

5 fun football ideas

I’m taking a nice break from holiday posts today and talking football – always a hot subject at my house as my husband is obsessed with his fantasy football leagues, and his college and pro teams of choice {Marshall and the Pittsburgh Steelers – can you tell he’s from W. VA?}.  I know some girls are really in to watching the game but I’m only in it for the food and the socializing so here are some fun ideas to make those 3 hour events more exciting for me, and hopefully you too.

  1. Whip up these bacon jalapeno poppers to enjoy throughout the game.  I like the play on words here too: footballs are called the “pigskin”.  Get the recipe on Homes.com.
  2. I’ve love this idea ever since I first saw it on The Celebration Shoppe:  String a team themed mini pennant banner across a map of the US.  Pin each end to the city where that team resides.  This is a really cute way to add a backdrop to your viewing party.
  3. I have to admit most of my college game day memories involve sipping highballs before heading inside the stadium.  To this day, every time I smell a bourbon & cola drink I think of college football games.  Bring these memories back to life by setting up a bourbon bar along with Diet Pepsi to quench your thirst during the game.
  4. The girly girl in me LOVES the idea of cheering on the game with a themed “fanicure”!  See how to do these from Covergirl and Polish and Pearls.
  5. Finally, make some football shaped trivets or coasters that you can use time and time again.  See directions on Lowes.com.

You can try out these ideas {and more} and enter to the Diet Pepsi #FanEnough contest {official rules here}.   All you do to enter is share your Sunday funday pics on your social channels and tag them using both #fanenough and #dietpepsi for a chance to win game day packs, Covergirl fanicure sets, and more.

  1. Thanks for sharing. I just picked up a green football field vinyl table cloth at Christmas Tree Shop. I think it will work nicely with these ideas.
